Marilyn E. Williams
I
grew up as part of a WWII military family and was influenced by many cultures.
Supplies were always available from which I could create greeting cards,
gifts, clothes and food. The
MEW work shop is a family enterprise. My
husband of 30 years, Joe Lipinski, is my business manager.
My son, Robert, who is also an innovative artist, is responsible for this
website. After
spending 25 years operating my own retail shop, I am enjoying working in my home
studio. In addition to the popular
hand painted Christmas ornaments, I design and create a variety of functional
art including home and special occasion decorations.
When developing a new design line, I usually research mythical,
historical, celestial, botanical and current cultural phenomena.
I integrate these concepts into a theme which flows throughout the design
of individual objects, and the installation in which they are exhibited and
sold. The ideas in one project often
flow and evolve into another. I
enjoy working with a wide variety of materials and being challenged by new
projects and possibilities. All
MEW products are designed and created individually, by me, in my Exclusive
design lines are available to the retailer and custom creations are available to
their customers as well. I
am dedicated to Truth, Beauty and Justice. I
identify strongly with the concept of artist as worker and worker as artist. |
